PRSA’s 2010 Northeast District Conference is expected to be a great success as the Capital Region Chapter of PRSA hosts the conference for the first time.  District members have all  received a “Save the Date!” note announcing the conference theme, date and location:

In early May, the call for speakers goes out seeking PRSA members and others who are interested in speaking opportunities.  Conference organizers are looking for experienced presenters who can motivate and energize an audience on the latest tools, techniques, trends and knowledge of new technology or research pertaining to public relations and centered on the conference theme.  The deadline for proposals is June 30.  Feel free to contact programming committee chairs Penny Vavura at penny@albanypr.com or Kelly Donahue at kdonahue@eypae.com if you have any questions. Mark your calendar now and plan to attend PRSA’s NE District Conference on Nov. 4 where you’ll have an opportunity to meet and network with PRSA members from the Capital Region, Rochester, Buffalo, Central New York (Syracuse), Finger Lakes, Boston, Southeastern New England (Rhode Island), and Yankee (New Hampshire) chapters.  We’ve also invited members of the Tri-State District — serving the Connecticut Valley, Southern Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Westchester/Fairfield chapters — to join us.

Call for Speakers

Organizers of the PRSA Northeast District 2010 Conference at the PRSA Capital Region chapter are looking for experienced presenters who can motivate and energize an audience on the latest tools, techniques, trends and knowledge of new technology or research pertaining to public relations and centered on the theme of “Capitalizing on Core Strengths: Connecting, Collaborating, Communicating.”

Industry experts, seasoned practitioners, researchers, or public relations service providers are invited to submit a proposal to individually or jointly present on a topic relevant for PR practitioners with varying levels of experience. We’re looking for presenters from both the corporate and not-for-profit worlds. The deadline for proposals is Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

Please submit:

  • Title of presentation
  • Intended audience (by skill level and/or topic)
  • Description of proposed presentation (200 words maximum)
  • Three learning objectives participants will take away from the session
  • Biography of each presenter (100 words maximum)
  • List/YouTube links/audio podcasts of previous speaking engagements
  • References
  • Speaker’s fee (if required)

Programs must offer solid and authentic tactical and strategic insights, and must NOT be a commercial for products or services. Presenters selected will receive a complimentary registration to the conference.
